Our Mission
Due to the pressures of poverty, many families in Uganda feel their only option is to send their children to live in an orphanage. Our goal is to ensure that children stay with their family by empowering their caregivers with business skills.
Our Programs
Keeping families together requires a holistic approach that not only considers the immediate needs of the child, but also a long-term plan for the family’s needs.
Business Training
Caregivers learn about best business practices, such as business planning, budgeting, bookkeeping, inventory, minimizing loss and maximizing profits from a skilled income generation facilitator.
Parenting Classes
The negative psychological effects that growing up in institutionalized care are not widely known. These classes help caregivers to feel better prepared to care for their children.
Start-Up Grant
After completing the business training course, graduates have access to a grant to cover their start-up costs. With no need to repay, caregivers can plan for their children’s future.
OnGoing Social Support
Trained social workers track and monitor the needs and progress of all families that receive support from Zion Family Support. With ongoing check-ins, no family feels alone.

Our Team
We are a Ugandan started and run organization. After seeing the number of orphanages and children’s home explode in Jinja, Juliet knew there needed to be more support for families to stay together.
